Bijel Doshi, Founder
In Hindu philosophy, "sanskar" means "imprint" or "mental groove"—the values and experiences that guide our future actions. As the son of immigrants, Bijel's sanskar, humility, patience, hard work, scrappiness, and a relentless focus on protecting against downside, were ingrained while living and working in room 104 of his family's motel in Indiana. This "scrappy," immigrant mentality drives a deep-research process that uncovers mispriced opportunities missed by the market’s short-term focus.
Prior to launching Sanskar, Bijel built, grew and served as sole Portfolio Manager of the Moka Fund, a long/short fund with the same fundamental strategy as Sanskar Capital, from 2018 to 2025. Under his leadership, Moka delivered a 79% net return, significantly outperforming the Russell 2000’s ~30% return over the same period and grew assets to $50mm.
His approach is backed by over 20 years of investment experience, including tenures at Goldman Sachs, JGE Capital and Norwood Capital. Bijel was an Eli Lilly Scholar and graduated with Honors from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Bijel lives in Reno, NV with his wife and three boys and enjoys playing pickleball and helping coach youth sports
